YOU should be in control of your physical therapy goals.

We believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Our approach goes beyond addressing isolated issues—we take the time to understand our patients as an individual, discussing their job, activities, hobbies, and more to uncover the root cause of any discomfort or pain.

Our goal isn't just to provide temporary relief; it's to empower patients to live a full and happy life doing what they love. Our mission is simple: we want to help our patients thrive, so they can say goodbye to frequent visits and hello to a future of wellness and vitality.

After being employed by both a large specialty, orthopedic hospital and an outpatient occupational medicine clinic, I began to realize the discrepency between my treatment philosophy and way the organization felt was best. Both were run as a profit center and not invested in providing quality care to patients. I no longer wanted my attention to be divided between two to five patients at once, but rather on one. As a therapist, I longed for the freedom to treat patients to aid in their recovery to the best of my ability, not based on numbers of patients seen in a day.

I received my undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2008. I then began my 6 year mathematics teaching career. It was during this time I realized my life path wasn’t in the classroom. I completed my doctoral work at Marquette University in 2017, and graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

My personal interests outside of work include fitness, anything that has to do with the outdoors: hiking, bike riding, running, etc. As a track athlete, triathlete, competitive crossfitter, and boxer- I know a little something about what it takes to train for events. The clinic hustle is real but the real hustle starts when I get home to my sweet not- so-little anymore babes, Finley and Tatum. These two sure know how to keep my husband Joe and I on top of our game!

Knowing since she was about four years old that she wanted to be a mom, Elissa has always centered her career around kids. Working as a child care teacher, nanny and youth counselor through the years she reached a point where she wanted to expand on her nurturing instincts and turned to the wellness field.

Elissa’s journey as a Massage Therapist began in 2012 when she graduated from Wisconsin School of Massage Therapy in Germantown. She started her career right away as a Licensed Massage Therapist in a spa clinic where she gained experience and knowledge through the many clients she worked with. In addition to becoming the Lead Therapist, she also spent three of her twelve years there as clinic manager. Having spent over a decade in the same location, Elissa felt herself being pulled into a new direction.

Upon learning about the opportunity to join the team at Living Well Physical Therapy she jumped at the chance to work with like-minded professionals where she can continue to evolve as a therapist and play a healing role in the lives of others.

With her husband and four kids by her side, Elissa spends most of her free time being at home making memories, baking and reading when time allows, and coaches an all star cheer team in Sussex!
